Stewardship work

The Alliance helps facilitate a variety of projects with its partners on the Iditarod National Historic Trail.

  • 2013 · Waymark signsThe first system of waymark signs on the Trail: 285 mileage signs, place-name signs and directional arrows on a 260-mile segment between the Alaska Range and the Yukon River, installed by four community partner groups and BLM staff who traveled hundreds of miles by snowmachine. The Alliance funded sign acquisition and shipping ($8,400) and $22,000 of grants to local groups and government for fuel and supplies.
  • 2014 · Farewell LakeA major repair project with the Iditarod Trail Committee after the 2010 Turquoise Lake fire and erosion.

Grants Content needed

Attachment 1 puts Grants under Get Involved, and the 2013 sign project shows the Alliance granting to local groups. What’s needed: who can apply, for what, how much, and when.

Workshops Content needed

iTREC! is the Alliance’s workshop series for educators (read about it). What’s needed: current and upcoming workshops, with dates, so this section can list them.
